Let Us Walk

Let us walk together
maybe just a few steps
hands in hand
without fear of onlookers
and naysayers

You do not ask me
I don’t ask you why.
We walk with your head
on my shoulder and
my head on yours
in silence
let two hearts talk

Let there be snow or rain
or sky covered with nimbus cloud.
or spurious gazes of the prudes
with no destination in mind
just saunter in the wilderness
beneath the bough of a banyan tree.

Let us walk together
just a few steps
in silence
hand in hand.
Let the world say what they want.

About Shiv Rana

Retirement life is a series of transition: from Olive Green to civvies, being woken up by a buddy to fetching morning milk from the milk booth. And now trying to adjust with crackling bones.
