Thank you 2015 and Bye – Bye

I have never made any New Year resolutions in my 68 years of being on this planet earth. I like to go with the flow of future, work hard (not anymore now), play hard and enjoy the life as it comes. So I am not going to change my way and style of life towards the twilight years of my life.

However, this time I am making an exception and that is to write a review or say bye – bye to 2015 and remember my old Commanding Officers favourite Auld Lang Syne.

2015 brought good things in my life. My elder daughter decided to get married and told us so in the beginning of the year. That brought cheers to the family. We got busy in planning for this big day. She was married off in Oct 2015.

The other big event was completion of 200 years of Gorkhas being in the Indian Army. I keenly looked forward for attending Bi-Centenary functions of the 1/1 Gorkha rifles (First First), which happened in Apr 2015 in Pathankot.

It was a wonderful reunion with the veterans and present generation during the bi-centenary function. All the function were meticulously planned and perfectly executed. We, the guest in the Battalion never felt a dull moment. It was wonderful to be there. I suddenly went back in the seventies.

I also got flat of my own this year in Delhi, which was due for taking in the year 2005. That was another high point in this year. We are now planning to shift to new house.

With the good things coming to an end alongwith the year 2015, I hope 2016 will be equally exciting and full of lovely and memorable events. And I live to write thanks giving for 2016.
