Unity in Diversity

Yesterday at Chowrasta, Darjeeling after a visit to Mandir at Danda (डाँणा),… It is a complex of various temples.
Danda (डाँणा), (ridge in English) has temple of local deity Mahakaal which is one of the names of Shivji.
Beauty of this open temple is that a Hindu priest Pandit) sits on the left of the three symbols (मूर्ति) made of metal (please see picture below) and a Tibetan priest (Lama) with his maroon robe sits on the right of these symbols. And both Hindus and Buddhists go to the temple with equal reverence and zeal.
A beautiful display of unity in diversity…..

About Shiv Rana

Retirement life is series of transition: from Olive Green to civvies, being woken up a buddy to fetching morning milk from the milk booth. And now trying to adjust with new-normal due to pandemic - CORONA.
