Another Aspect of CSR (Citizens Social Responsibility)

Another Aspect of CSR (Citizens Social Responsibility)
We talk and pick faults with others, specially the corporates that they do not follow Corporate Social Responsibility or there is no Good Governance etc.. But have we ever thought as a citizen of this country what are Citizen’s Social Responsibility? (This is what I call another Aspect of CSR). To avoid any confusion in using the term CSR, let us call the Citizen’s Social Responsibility as an Individual Social Responsibility (ISR).
A house is built brick by brick. An ocean is made of drops. So is the nation made by each citizen How is the nation rated or how it is seen by the people of other countries depends on the responsibilities shared by its citizens.
So are we helping our nation to be seen as the nation of of good people? The answer is flat no (NO). The reason : none of our citizens care for the country. We all are so engrossed in our day to day life that we do not spare a moment for our nation. We are busy in criticising our government, our neighbours, our corporates. But we do not introspect or we do not have time to look in to ourselves. We only want what I can get from the country; Freedom of Speech, Right to Education etc. , etc. But we never for a second stop to think what am I ,as an individual citizen of this country, should be doing for my country which gives me so much of freedom of doing things rarely seen in many other countries.
It is high time that we begin to realize the Individual Social Responsibility. May be this thought for a time begins with me, an individual, then picks up a moment and then is codified like we have tried to do with CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)
